Cal Medi-Connect
Public Values conducted a series of 18 focus groups with Los Angeles County residents who are dual-eligible for both Medi-Cal and Medicare to discuss their experiences with Cal MediConnect (CMC). The purpose of the study was to help understand why two-thirds of eligible beneficiaries in Los Angeles County choose to opt-out of CMC or later disenroll, and to identify the most effective value propositions for encouraging enrollment. The groups were conducted with English and Spanish speaking residents living in the Greater Los Angeles Area, drawing from regions including Downtown Los Angeles, East Los Angeles, Long Beach, the San Fernando Valley, and the South Bay.
Results from the study will be used to develop marketing and communication strategy.
