Improving Member Services

L.A. Care Health Plan

Project Details

As part of a larger effort to continually improve member services, L.A. Care Health Plan engage Public Values to conduct a two-phase research study exploring the challenges and needs of individuals currently caring for L.A. Care members. A survey was conducted to: (1) identify the demographic profile of caregivers, including the type of care they are providing; (2) understand the experience and challenges caregivers face; and, (3) identify high-risk caregiver groups most in need of support and services. The second phase of research was a series of focus groups that addressed the type of support caregivers need and want, specific terminology that might be used in outreach and communications, and optimal communication channels.

Outcome

Results from the study were used to determine how L.A. Care can best support and communicate with caregivers.
