Project Details

The Kern County Waste Management Department (KCWMD) hired Public Values to conduct a public opinion survey with Kern County residents regarding their knowledge of and satisfaction with the services and programs provided by the Department and to track the impact of the Departments’ efforts on waste reduction and disposal practices.

Outcome

Survey findings, in conjunction with other data, were used to: (1) improve the delivery of services provided by County facilities, events, and programs; (2) refine public outreach strategies and programs designed to increase waste reduction, reuse, and recycling in Kern County; and (3) measure the proportion of residents who regularly participate in waste reduction and recycling activities.
